A new vacancy on the Apple website gives the impression preparations are being made for an iPad with a video camera. The job description on Apple’s website states the Cupertino based company is looking for a ‘Performance Engineer’ for their iPad Media division (part of their Interactive Media Group).
The juicy bit: the job entails testing and developing performance measurement test tools for an iPad camera. A strong technical background in the World of Digital Camera technology is alsorequired in order to be considered.
This ups the speculation regarding the iPad and inclusion of a camera. Will Apple budge and ship the first generation iPad with a camera? Even though we don’t feel it is an absolutely necessity, it would add an array of possibilities to the tablet (augmented reality anyone?).
